Disappointingly,Chris couldn’t get the petrol
tank badge backing mounts,theywere‘like


hen’steeth’atthe ti me,sohehad to make
do with just the badges.Ayear later, Chris
married Claireand gave herthe Cubasa
wedding present. Nowthatist ruelovefor
you! Their honeymoonwasspentatt he Manx
–beats the Bahamas anyday...
SonHarry arrivedand distractedChris and
Clairefor afew years until 2018, when Chris
announced thatheintendedto rebuild the
Cubonceagain .Beingaconsiderate chap,
he enquired whether Clairewould like any

modifications incorporating –after all ,itis
herbike.Abasketwasthefirst request: not
tootricky, and‘improved comfort’:not so
straightforward.
So asprung saddle with 3”springswas
fitted .Toget herwiththe Hagonshocks this
countera ctsmost of the lumps and bumps
from poorroads.Onceagain theframe,
petrol tank and oil tankwere repaintedwith
Tekaloid; sprayed this time,and what agreat
finish this produced.Chris isvery pleased.
