I used cyber-hobby’s
T54E1 Steel Chevron
track set no. 3864, which
are a set of full-length
flexible tracks.

Maru Easy Mud 21101 – Standard
Light mixed with a small amount of
MIG AMMO A.MIG-3015 Brick Dust
pigment was applied to the painted
tracks. The high points were wiped
with Rub n Buff Pewter.

The tracks were a little
loose so they were glued in
place and forced onto the
return rollers with scraps of
cardboard as the cement set.

A thinned mix of Maru Mud
was flicked sparingly onto the
hull representing mud spatter.

The deep
wading stacks
with the bracing
rods in place.

The .50 cal machine gun was
painted Tamiya acrylic XF-1 Flat
Black then Testor’s Metalizer
Gunmetal, applied by brush.

The base colour for the
pixie suit was sourced from
Vallejo’s acrylic range.

I have had this figure, the
Commander from Ultracast’s
Set No. Item 35008 Northern
Europe Crew, since 1998.

It stands up very well against
the new generation of figures
more than 20 years later.

The Commander
fits perfectly in the
Tasca turret hatch.
