PAINTING

My first step was to dis-assemble the running

gear (the wheels were mounted using masking

fluid). Its parts were attached to toothpicks and

injection needles or held with special clips.

With a small amount of masking

fluid, I sealed the wheel axles onto

the suspension arms.

All parts and sub-assemblies were then primed with

AK-Interactive AK757 ‘Black Primer & Microfiller’.

Next, I applied a

layer of C164 ‘Panzer

Dunkelgrau Base’

from the Hataka’s

Orange line.

The details and

chosen surfaces

were highlighted

with highly diluted

Hataka C037 ‘Light

Ghost Grey’.

As the Tamiya kit didn’t include

suitable markings for my

project, I had to source them

out from my decal stash.

The wheel’s rubber rims and other

details were brush-painted with various

vinyl-based acrylics from Vallejo.
