The pianist figure required

a lot of attention. My

first step was to build

up a basic skeleton of

the lower portions of the

figure and adjust this to

the armchair.

Next, I progressively

added the trousers and

lower portions of the

camouflage smock.

Afterwards, I had to sculpt the head and

prepare the basic shape of the arms, as

everything had to be fitted to the piano before

I could form the upper portions of the uniform.

I then created the

arms and torso.

Once I’d added all the

details (laces, loops etc.),

I could prepare the figure

for the casting process.

The pianist figure, along

with the armchair and

piano, is now available as

a resin set from my KFS-

miniatures brand.

For the painting stage, all figures were attached to wine corks – if one

wants to paint small figures in a comfortable way, he/she needs to drink

wine. The more figures you want to paint, the more you need to drink...

I primed the figures in

black, and then sprayed

some white paint from

above in order to check

the arrangement of

shadows and highlights.

The faces and hands

were painted using

various skin tones

from the Lifecolor

CS13 ‘Flesh Paint Set’.

For the uniforms, I used the

nicely composed AK-Interactive

sets: AK3001 ‘Panzer Crew

Black Uniform’ for the tanker...

...and AK3140 ‘German Fieldgrey

Uniforms’ for the remaining two figures.

The camouflage spots were added with

‘Jokaero Orange’ from Citadel.
