continent’s most influential leaders.
John Wood, founder of the education
charity Room to Read, also gave a
moving speech about the power of
knowledge and announced that Room
to Read would be opening a school
in Cambodia later this year thanks to
its partnership with Asia Tatler. And
before the gathering moved on to
the party, Sean Fitzpatrick, managing
director and chief brand officer of Asia
Tatler, raised a toast to the new Gen.T
Listers with Glyph, the world’s first
molecular whiskey.
With dinner under their belts, the
guests moved to the hotel’s grand
ballroom, where more than 300 people
were gathered for the unveiling of
the Gen.T List 2019. The profiles of
the new Hong Kong honourees were
hidden behind neon-lit sliding panels
in the centre of the room until the big
reveal, when Generation T editor Lee
Williamson opened the installation,
and LED screens lit up with a video
revealing the rest of the Gen.T
honourees across Asia.
The presence of previous years’
honourees, including Aaron Lee, Kevin
Mak, Alessandro Bisagni and Thierry
Chow, turned up the glamour quotient,
and guests sipped on bevvies provided
by Golden Gate Wine and Glyph. DJ
Katrina Razon, also a Gen.T honouree,
supplied the evening’s buzzy tunes
and kept the party going well past
midnight.
