DARK MOON
When the Moon is
totally invisible
Use incense to
cleanse your energy
before stepping into
the water. This is the
perfect Moon phase
for a salt bath to clear
away bad vibes from
stuff like a breakup
or an encounter with
an ex.

NEW MOON
When that little
fingernail of a Moon
says hi
Setting intentions for
growth with fresh
flowers in your water
can feel rejuvenating
during this phase. The
energy of this luscious
full bath can be used
to launch that new
creative project you’re
excited about.

WAXING MOON
When a bb
Moon is starting to
grow into a full one
Now is the time for
love or self-love baths.
A stone like rose
quartz or lusty garnet
can be a great ally.
Add rose water or
flower petals for extra
oomph.

FULL MOON
When...well, duh
Use this phase to start
a gratitude practice
by thanking your body
for everything it does
for you. Treat yourself
to soothing bath oils
or a bath bomb.

WANING MOON
When the Full Moon
starts to fade away
It’s a period to let go
of habits. Use anti-
negativity crystals
(smoky quartz, black
tourmaline) and a salt
bath with eucalyptus
to purge any energies
holding you back.

No tub? We gotchu. Place your tools just outside your shower, and use
salt scrubs instead of soaks or rub on oils right after you rinse. If you
wanna take things next-level, douse yourself with water you’ve charged in
the moonlight. (Grab a pot, fill it with water, and leave it outside
during the Moon phase of your choice.) Your bubble baths could never.

The next time you
need a legit rea-
son to cancel
plans, use this:
the Moon. As in,
you’re busy taking
a Moon bath, aka
an intention-setting
ritual you can do
at certain points of
the Moon’s 28-day
cycle that will help
you better under-
stand your own
physical and emo-
tional sitch. Basi-
cally, getting in
the tub is a way to
sync up with the
lunar phases and
do some serious
reflection. Also,
these soaks are
pretty—behold, at
left. And they feel
sooo nice.
The first step is
to make sure you’re
paying homage to
all four elements,
says Erin O’Leary,
HausWitch coven’s
very own water-
sign Moon Witch
(she runs Erin’s
Apothecary and
makes sea-salt
Moon baths with
herbs and crys-
tals...so she should
know). Her favor-
ite setup is salt for
earth, incense for
air, candles for
fire, and wine for
water—but hon-
estly, just do you.
Turn on your faucet
and keep reading.

It’s like a regular bath but vibe-ier.
