JAZZING THINGS UP

■SERVICE musicians have launched a

competition to get youngsters involved

with big band music.

The British Army Jazz Orchestra is asking

school and youth ensembles to record their

own version of Amazing Grace and the

winners will get to perform a joint concert

alongside the soldiers next year.

Nominations are open across 12 categories, with a deadline of

September 30 for all entries.

Anyone shortlisted will be invited to a special reception at the

House of Lords, with the winners announced at a black-tie event in

April next year.
