Get your profi le
out there
“I use a website called Star Now.
Take some pictures against
diff erent backdrops so potential
clients can see you in a variety
of angles and try to use a
professional photographer. I was
selected to compete in the Mr
British Isles Elegant competition
via my profi le on that forum.”
Confi dence is
key
“You must be confi dent within
yourself. My father always said
‘no matter what you put your
mind to, you will achieve it’ and
he was right. If you have that
drive you will succeed.”
Stay in touch
“Make sure you keep in contact
with your former colleagues as
they might be able to help you
down the line. My old company
clerk, Ana Lavekau, launched
London Pacifi c Fashion Week and
she knew all about my drive and
what I was like – that’s how I got
into modelling.”
Make friends
“Once you’ve got some good
contacts in the industry it is
important to maintain them.
I’m going to have shoulder
surgery this month and once I’ve
recovered I want to get into stunt
work. I’m still in touch with Idris
Elba’s stunt double and he will be
a useful contact moving forward.”
Don’t be afraid
of rejection
“This will happen. I have an
interest in a lot of things, if
something is not going well
I simply divert my focus
elsewhere. Knockbacks will
only make you stronger.”
Be yourself
“Don’t try to be
something you’re not.
When I’m doing a pose
I just act naturally and
everything fi ts into
place. It’s the same
when I’m on set – I’m
humble and take
instruction and do
things to the best of
my ability.”
