Humanity, a hardback that serves as a timely
reminder that we all share common emotions
and experiences. Fabian Muir’s image, ‘The
Hand That Rocks the Cradle’, shows children
in a North Korean orphanage. ‘They make me
think not only of their own future but also of
their country’s future,’ writes Muir. ‘I hope they
grow up in a North Korea that opens up and
emerges from the time capsule within which it
has been locked for well over half a century.’
My only rule: I never photographed
the faces of the dead, ever, out of
respect for their families
