I began by stamping the flowers with a watermark ink
and heat embossing them. I stamped the green grid
stamp using a stamping aid enabling me to clean the
ink from the stamp to avoid stamping over the flowers.
I stamped the owl with VersaFine Clair Nocturn and
coloured him, choosing coordinating colours. I also
stamped the die cuts with the same ink blending the
edges with a coordinating green ink. I added more
labels for a playful effect and attached them with tape.
The openwork edge was applied with a little glue. I also
stamped the hole reinforcers all differently and added
them in layers. Finally I apply the gypsophila flower
branch which I textured with an embossing tool to create
a more 3D look. This is a lovely effect if you like flowers.

I love using inks, but sometimes I forget which colours I have. So I’ve started a planner for colour charts and techniques to help me keep
track. I think it’ll be one of the most treasured books in my craft room.
I stamped the colour chart boxes slightly offset, with VersaFine. Then stamped the opposite page one colour at a time starting with
the lightest colour, cleaning my stamp in between. I masked the edges with purple tape for a cleaner look. On a piece of scrap paper,
I smooched some pink ink, letting that dry a little before adding gold embossing powder creating a distressed look. After heat setting,
I cut hole enforcers from pink/gold paper, stamped the quote mounting it twice onto scrapbook paper, and added a die cut clip. After
stamping the boxes I hand wrote the details underneath. I finished with a torn die cut border.
