Leaf Through The Pages
By Jenny Marples
This handbound book is covered with
painted cotton fabric, and has lots of tea
stained pages inside. The front cover is
decorated with a layered collage of different
textures and coordinating colours, and
features a stamped leaf which has been
hand stitched across its central vein. The
mixed painted surfaces are stacked up
over a torn calico strip and contrast with
the metallic glints of gold and silver heat
embossed pieces of card. Adding the word
‘story’ to the front is a way of enticing people
to begin a journey through the book as they
‘leaf through the pages’ and create their own
narrative through the pictures and words
they choose to record.

Vintage Sewing Scraps

By Jennie Atkinson

I am known for pouring myself two cups of tea, one
for me and one for my craft! I love the way different
types of lace and ribbon take the dye. What
better way than to combine them than with some
wonderful sewing themed PaperArtsy stamps to
make this little journal to record sewing scraps.

Eileen’s Wrapped Journal was cut in mountboard
and easily covered with one piece of linen on the
outside and scrapbook papers on the inside. It was
easy to cover any rough edges with small pieces of
lace. I used my stamps on linen, parchment paper
and cardstock for the cover and inside stamped
on the tea dyed papers to create three signatures
using the Passport Die. The signatures are held in
place by elastic around the spine, but these have
been disguised with more lace and ribbon.
