Honeycomb Hive Tag
By Christine Dark
The gorgeous MDF bee themed
embellishments are perfect for summer
projects and I knew I’d be featuring
yellow for the bees so I worked my colour
scheme of blue, green, pink and white
Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics around it.
My substrate is corrugated card, the
idea of looking down inside a beehive
and seeing the lined-up beeswax frames
came to mind, it also adds nice texture in
the background. Leaving some of the top
layer of paper intact allowed stamping
with the PaperArtsy bee themed stamps
and the MDF makes a great stamping and
doodling surface. I’ve stamped onto the
hexagon shapes, doodled on the flowers
and added fine hairs on the bodies of the
bees after painting. Some PaperArtsy
Infusions dyes and pom pom ribbon, a bit
of sparkle and dots of Fresco Finish Chalk
Acrylics complete my giant tag.
