Of The Sea
Use hand crafted, 3D clay embellishments to
create detail on a stunning sea themed canvas!

live by the sea and I am so lucky to be surrounded by
endless inspiration. I used an 8 x 8 inch piece of
thick mixed media card to stamp onto, as I
wanted the stamping to be sharp and found
this was the best way of achieving this. I
then attached the card to the canvas
board.
I wanted movement on my project
to represent the waves, and I
achieved this by stencilling with
embossing paste and heating
Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
powders until they liquefied.
This is a favourite technique of
mine, as it always gives such a
unique effect.
I had so much fun making the
3D elements from clay and
painting them with shiny acrylic
paints.
When using sprays and powders
I always test them out first, as they
give very different results on different
types of card and this was my starting
