heat embossing and mono printing!

mbossing powder is a staple in my craft room
as I love how it adds texture, depth and
colour that can be either bold or
subtle. You can use it for clean and simple
designs, or go for an abstract effect.
For this card, I’m heat embossing
stencilled designs onto Dura-Lar.
Dura-Lar is a matte, polyester film
which, unlike regular plastic, can
be heat embossed. (Other plastic
sheets can melt - not a good
experience in the craft room!).
Because this type of Dura-Lar
has a frosted finish, it also adds
an additional layer of dimension
as it ‘ghosts’ the book paper
behind it.Designer
tip...
When I’m monoprinting, I
like to have a batch of scrap
card or extra bits of Dura-Lar
on hand to pick up leftover
paint... not a bit goes to
