Wall Art

Learn how to create a tiled effect on a plain
wall by using a clever stamping technique!

T

his is not the prettiest of projects to begin with but ends up looking amazing.
It’s so easy and effective anyone can do it. I’m really into reusing and up-
cycling where I can so I’m always on the lookout for projects to update our
home. The current needs of climate change are totally met here, we’re not buying a
stack of tiles or using power tools to cut them, we’re using bendy tile patterns to print
artwork onto the walls, it’s that easy!
My inspiration for printing onto walls was simply that I couldn’t find the wallpaper I
liked. So initially I thought it would be a great idea to print my own paper, but why when
you can print directly onto the walls themselves? When I began decorating walls, I
experimented with different paints and rollers and found that regular house paint, matt
or silk, all worked when using a simple foam roller and paint tray. To really get a good
foundation print onto a flat plastered wall, although personally I don’t think it matters if
you can’t get it perfectly flat, as this adds to the rustic look.

“I absolutely love to ‘Hand Carve
Rubber Stamps’ but I also produce
see-through ‘Flexi-Clear’ Stamps
(slightly flexible) or ‘Crystal-Clear’
Stamps (hard)... which are also
incredibly satisfying to hand draw the
design and create graphics to produce
the new designs for you to buy.

I absolutely love drawing up new
designs for you and get very excited
if they become popular. My Little
Stamp Store started out as a hobby
in 2011 and has now flourished into a
successful little home run business.
I work at the bottom of the garden in
our ‘Shedio’.
