1 Gather your supplies. I have used a 2
ply (or 2 layers) face tissue and a 2 ply
kitchen towel to demonstrate here.

2 I created a bull’s eye pattern using the
twine and the face tissue, and a spiral
pattern for the kitchen towel. This was
secured with rubber bands.

3 First wet the partitioned part of the
tissue and then add the watercolours to
the tissue with the help of a waterbrush.
Leave the tissues to dry.

to finish the project: I added the tissue transferred cardstock to a white base card. I used a black card strip to die cut the ‘happy’
word, dabbed it with embossing ink and then used sticky embossing powder. Gold foil was added to get some texture over the black
cardstock. The die cuts are added to the card front using foam adhesive. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in gold, I
added a few sequins and a white strip at the bottom to finish off the card.

4 Carefully remove the twine and rubber
bands to reveal the tie dye patterns.

5 If your tissue is 2 ply you will get 2
designs, and 3 for 3 ply tissue. Separate
the tissue layers.

6 Place the plain cardstock onto a
protected surface and cover with Glad/
Cling wrap (make sure this is bigger
than the cardstock as it will shrink)
Place the tie dyed tissue over the top of
the Glad/cling wrap.

Step-by-step... Tissue Tie Dye Transfer

7 Cover the ‘sandwich’ of materials from
step 6 with some plain paper. Using a
hot dry iron (remember to set as dry not
steam), iron on the top piece of paper
piece for 3 - 4 minutes.

8 Remove the top layer of paper. The
tie dyed tissue will be adhered to the
cardstock by the heated Glad/cling
wrap. Trim any excess tissue.

9 Use your new tie dyed cardstock as
a background piece for a card. I have
used sticky embossing ink and gold foil
on a die cut word to add texture.
