Porpoise Fun
By Debi Hammons for
Stampendous
A friendly porpoise jumps through blue waters
off a desert isle. This is a fun summertime
image that would make a great invitation to
a pool party or a birthday card for an ocean-
loving friend! It was coloured roughly with
alcohol markers, no special techniques are
needed for this whimsical image. Layer the
images onto 3D foam squares for dimension,
and add a beautiful ribbon for texture.

Deep Blue Sea

By Chantal Verhoeven

As this art call was “Deep Blue
Sea”, I immediately thought of an
underwater scene with many fish
and shells. For the bubbles, I applied
texture paste through the stencil onto
white card. I dried this with a heat
tool making it bubble up. I brayered
all three colours of acrylic paint
directly to a card base, then stamped
the seaweed on the bottom of the
card in green ink, and the shells in the
corner in blue. Taking another piece
of white card, I brayered acrylic paint
as I did for the base card. I stamped
different fish onto this, cutting them
out and gluing them to the card. To
finish I matted my card on green
cardstock and then blue.
