Craft Stamper – August 2019

(Brent) #1
Wish You Were Here?
By Samantha Read
Everyone sends a postcard when they go
to the seaside right? I kept to a neutral,
relaxed background using a Hickory
Smoke Distress ink pad so the colours
would really pop. For the sand dune
grasses background I used Craft Stamper
cover stamps from issues Sept 2012
and March 2018 and highlighted using
a Posca paint pen. A coffee stirrer made
a perfect platform for the beach huts by
adding a little texture sand paste also
from That’s Crafty!, and using Prismacolor
pencils to colour the huts. The sentiment
is from a Tracey Hey stamp set, Beautiful
Chaos.

Today Is A Good Day

By Trish Latimer

I decided to move away from the obvious
beach type scene with this project. Even
though it is clearly a beach hut, it can also
work as a regular house, and I love the
whole house/home type themes when
I’m creating. Having said that, a very blue
colour scheme seemed to evolve, so
perhaps the sea was always calling! The
background is a piece of leftover Gel print,
and I’ve coloured the house using water
soluble pencils.

“Even though this little
house was originally
designed as a beach hut,
don’t keep it exclusively
for seaside art! I think
it works perfectly as a
regular house too. ”

DESIGNER
TIP...
Don’t just think beach
huts, this stamp could be
a shed or man cave for a
masculine make.
