Create an adorable beach scene using an Eileen
Hull Journal die and cute Tracey Hey stamps!
By Tracey Hey

I

t’s always fun to try and think of different ways to use our crafty stash, so for this
creation I decided to use the very popular Eileen Hull wrapped journal die, but in a
slightly different way!
With a beach theme in my head, I began by selecting an appropriate colour palette of
three colours, then continued using these colours for each of the elements, ensuring
everything tied together beautifully. Using a brayer to apply the three paint colours
in one go provides a seamless blend and creates a fantastic backdrop to layer onto,
however the colours need to be selected carefully to ensure they don’t create a muddy
mess where they overlap! I chose beachy colours with one of the colours being
metallic, just to add a little something extra.
Using the journal as a display box makes it perfect to give as a gift, why not make
the cover like a birthday card, then fill the box with sweets or cosmetics? There are
so many ways to adapt this design to make it suitable for any recipient and for any
occasion.
