1 Put a blob of each paint colour on a
paint mat and spread using a brayer.
2 Apply the paint to the journal cover and
to a separate piece of card to use as the
backdrop for the box.
3 Add some cloud texture using a sponge,
some scribbled beach huts cut from
newspaper, some sand and some
glossy texture paste for the sea.
To finish the project: With everything in place, finish off the journal by using a complementing frayed ribbon to thread through the
holes on the spine. Punch a hole in the middle of the spine and insert an eyelet, use this to pop a loop of elastic through as a closure,
I tied some ribbon around to hide the knot inside.
4 Paint the box with white gesso and
adhere to the inside of the journal.
5 Stamp and emboss randomly using
White and Primary Goose embossing
powder and highlight using a Distress
Marker or white Posca pen.
6 Mix some of the metallic paint with the
clear texture paste and apply in small
random sections through a stencil.
