St Petrocs’ new poetry book Stones in Our Hands
available for sale now! St Petrocs’ new poetry book
was launched at the Royal Cornwall Show 2019.
Stones in Our Hands is a collection of poetry by clients,
staff, volunteers and supporters of St Petrocs exploring
themes that resonate with homelessness. The poetry
was produced through facilitated workshops with
clients, staff, volunteers and supporters of St Petrocs
throughout the winter of 2018/19.
‘They are deeply personal, and totally universal,
humanity shown through longings for ordinary things,
and joy found in hard times in nature.’ Annamaria
Murphy Poetry workshops took place during the
delivery of the winter night shelters across St Petrocs’

two resource centres and supported accommodation.
People enjoyed the sessions and got a lot out of them.
One participant said:
‘Since this writing project has started it’s helped me
a great deal along the way, to feel empty now. It’s
released all these chains. It’s like I can breathe again.’
Stones in Our Hands is available to purchase for
£10 directly from St Petrocs and also in some local
bookshops. To order a copy of the book or to find out
more please email us at [email protected]
St Petrocs is a Cornish charity working to end street
homelessness in Cornwall and has been recently
awarded ‘Best Business with a Purpose at the
Cornwall Business Awards 2019.
