The Chevrolet Performance Deluxe Serpentine Front Kit (PN 12497698 and sourced from
Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center) for 1955-’95 Gen I small-blocks fits virtually any application
imaginable. It gives you a nice, tight package with plenty of room above the water
pump for late-model fuel-injected applications. This kit includes all of the components,
hardware, and instructions necessary for installation and gives you the benefits of
a modern serpentine drive system.
2The first order of business is to install the new GM water pump, which calls for a super-
thin bead of Permatex The Right Stuff between the pump and the block. Chevrolet
Performance has provided the four high-carbon steel fasteners for this task.
