82 SUPER CHEVY SEPTEMBER^2019

“Drive it” is the unofficial motto of
Super Chevy. Gary and Natalie Gray
of Windsor, Colorado, do just that
with their 1957 Chevy 150 two-door sedan. In just under four years since
a total mechanical restoration by Windsor Street Rods (Colorado), the
Grays have put nearly 38,000 miles on the odometer. Those miles
encompass trips to California, Minnesota, Texas (three times), Arkansas,
Arizona, and Utah. The original 265ci small-block has been bored
.030-over and modified with a hydraulic roller valvetrain, Corvette-style
heads, Edelbrock manifold, and topped with an MSD Atomic EFI. Classic
Performance Products power steering and front disc brakes and Vintage
Air A/C are a few of the many modern components that provide
reliability and comfort as the Grays enjoy their road trips.

Back when Joe St. Antoine was
a kid, he used to go to A&W hotrod Fridays with
his dad. Joe’s 1971 Nova build is based on a Yenko
Nova he remembers that was always at those
A&W shows. Under the hood is a Holley
fuel-injected 468ci big-block filled with a Street
Force cam, 502 heads, Eagle rods, and BRC
pistons. Finishing off the drivetrain is a TH400
transmission, Gear Vendors overdrive,
and a rearend filled with 4.11 gears. Joe’s
buddies over at Jeeps Auto Body sprayed
the final paint after Joe performed the
complete frame-off restoration. The
interior is all new. AutoMeter American
Muscle gauges track the engine’s vitals.
