he regular readers of the rationalist

Tamil daily Viduthalai cannot miss the

informative and thought – provoking

front page statements getting published almost

the every other day. Those who intensively

read and absolutely understand them will

never fail to notice that the signatory of the

statements is an ever-vigilant supreme sentinel

of the South. Anything that is detrimental to

the socially and politically downtrodden in the

whole of India cannot escape his scrutiny. Then

comes out of him forthwith a remedial measure

or warnings to the powers or a counseling to

the multitudinal masses. He is a socio-political

messiah of the masses, especially in Tamil Nadu

not excluding the whole lot of southern States.

No wonder therefore that he is not unknown

to the enlightened in Andhra, Karnataka and

Kerala. He is the most sought – after leader in

the neighboring states.

Nearly six decades of his proximity and tutelage

of Thanthai Periyar keeps him in good stead to get

himself alerted, whether it is National Eligibility

cum Entrance Test or questionable reservation

to the economically poor or the clandestine

entry of an unspoken tongue or biased policies

with a snow balling effect to get approved in

the floor of the parliament. To my knowledge,

he is a leader of encyclopaediac awareness. No

issue he keeps untouched without adequately

checking and then analyzing its merits or

defects in his topical statements.

Duration of his eating and sleeping is lesser than

that of his reading and writing. Prolific writer

and a voluminous reader he is. Panacea he has

for all the ills of our Society. If people are still

duped by the pseudo-magicians, wily-tantriks

and worthless priests, it is because of their not

reading Viduthalai, the only rationalistic daily

in the whole world. Until Viduthalai becomes

a household journal, boorish practices, foolish

superstitions and idiotic worships will play

havoc in society. If t, of which the sentinel is

Editor for more than five decades, is not read by

anybody, the loss is not for the daily. It is for the

society and for the individuals.

Dravidar Kazhagam is the only organization

that has never been patronized by money-bags

and bigwigs. Nor does it expect it to be so. It

is by the proletarians and for the proletarians

without unreasonably antagonizing anybody

including the bourgeoise. Voluntary donations

that come unsolicitingly to the leader that keeps

alive the party. Every pie is accounted for the

welfare of the party.

Health is the real wealth of Dr. K. Veeramani.

Despite being octogenarian, he is still cris

crossing the whole of Tamil Nadu, contacting

party activists, addressing public meetings and

participating in social and literary functions.

Deliberately discriminating the poor and the

ordinary against the rich and the high has never
