I
ntelligent design (ID) maintains that some
features of the natural world are best
explained by an intelligent cause (presumably
God?) rather than by the natural process of
evolution. That’s nonsense; evolution explains
the natural world much better. Abby Hafer has
a doctorate in zoology and teaches human
anatomy and physiology at Curry College. She
was incensed by the claims of ID, so she wrote
this book explaining the history and claims of ID,
conclusively debunking it, and demonstrating
that no intelligent designer could have created a
human body with so many design flaws.
Creationists invented the term intelligent
design to get around the U.S. Supreme Court’s
finding that creationism is a religion and to try
to disguise creationist beliefs as science. They
went back to their creationist textbook of Pandas
and people and replaced every mention of the
word creationism with the words intelligent
design, and every mention of creationists by
the words intelligent design proponents. But
they were careless. The new textbook famously
had a cut-and-paste typo that read “edesign-
proponentsists.”
Hafer exposes the religious agenda of the
creationist Discovery Institute as revealed in
the infamous “Wedge” document and shows
that the individual members of its staff disagree
about almost everything. Some believe Earth
is only 10,000 years old; other accept that it
is billions of years old. Some believe every
species was individually created by God; some
accept that humans and chimpanzees have a
common ancestor but say that doesn’t explain
the differences between the species. Some are
HIV/AIDS denialists. Hafer comments, “I am not
sure that they could agree among themselves
that gravity makes things fall down. “There is
only one thing they agree on: they want your
children to be taught ID as science and expectAfter reading and quoting a part of a book
on Sai Baba written by Dr.K.Veeramani in the
Annual Number of Modern Rationalist 2018,
I decided to visit the legal firm of the Late
Mr.Jai Ram in Kuala Lumpur to make some
queries and also to get some supporting
documents related to Sai Baba’s mischievous
conducts compounded with unnatural
sexual activities.
The birthday celebrations of Sai Baba in
Penang, Malaysia was reported in the tabloid
called Star. This made me more anxious to
meet the close friends of Jai Ram, and to high
light the bad experiences associated with the
so called god man.
I called up the legal firm of Ram and Rais,
situated in the Golden Triangle of Malaysian
capital, Kuala Lumpur. The senior partner
and a close friend of Jai Ram gave me an
appointment and she requested to be
anonymous. This meeting took place in early
February 2019.
My objective was to remind the public about
Sai Baba’s misconducts and refrain from
conned by his activities, although this matters
have been documented in a little book by Dr.
K. Veeramai in 1994 called “Puttaparthi Sai
Baba” ( Tamil)..
Once again the long time associate of Jai
Ram informed me that, he was an ardent
supporter and follower of Sai Baba in 1970s
and later through the students he sponsored,
came to know the ugly face of the god man.
He wrote a letter to Dr. K. Veeramani to
confirm the misdeeds of the Baba. I wanted
to meet the immediate family members of
the Jai Ram but was told he was divorced and
have no children. Jai Ram’s forefathers are
from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
This small note , I hope will refresh the minds
of the general public all over globe and
especially those blindly following Sai Baba’s
teachings of super unnatural demeanours.- M. Govindasamy
