CRITICS’ CHOICE
IN THIS new series, four self-
made millionaires who failed
at school are hoping to pass on
some life lessons to pupils — by
going undercover as teaching
assistants in four struggling
state secondary schools. First
up is marketing mogul Paul
Rowlett (pictured with
pupils Courtney and Loui),
who
goes to
a school
in Hertfordshire. At a time
when class sizes are increasing
and teacher recruitment
targets are missed, he sees
first-hand how underfunding
affects the classroom, and is
put to the test trying to help a
15-year-old to get to grips with
GCSE maths. Any former teen
tearaways watching will see
themselves in these kids, but
the emotional ending will
leave you feeling uplifted.
PICK OF THE DAY
CRIME WAVE
Ross Kemp Living With
Knife Crime, 7.30pm, ITV
THE TV hardman explores the country’s
knife crime epidemic after last year saw 285
people fatally stabbed in England and Wales
— the highest number since records began.
ANIMAL KINGDOM
Serengeti, 8pm, BBC1
THIS incredible series is coming
to an end, and it’s a period of
rebirth after the devastating fire.
The animals prepare their young
for the tough life ahead, and it’s
gut-wrenching to see a little
elephant struggling. The wild dog
pups take to hunting well, as do
Kike’s cheetah cubs — but
can either hold their own
against an angry giraffe?
ART SLEUTH
Fake Or Fortune?,
9pm, BBC1
COULD a still life bought
for just a pound in a
Hampshire
bric-a-brac
shop be the
work of
influential
Italian painter
Giorgio de
Chirico — and
worth £50,000? Owner Bob Kay had
previously submitted the picture
to the de Chirico Foundation for
authentication, only for one committee
member to be unconvinced; now, Philip
Mould (pictured) and Fiona Bruce
head to Rome to investigate whether
that decision should be overturned.
NEW SITCOM
This Way Up, 10pm, Ch4
AISLING BEA (pictured) has
written this comedy and also
plays the lead, Aine, a teacher
struggling with her mental
health. She has the support
of her worried big sister,
