AS THE BENEFITS OF USING OF CBD OIL
BECOME MORE WIDELY PUBLICISED,
HOTELS SHOULD BE READY TO JUMP ON
THE BACK OF THE BOOM. RUDDING PARK
IN HARROGATE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TO
TAKE THE PLUNGE AND INTRODUCE A RANGE
OF SPA TREATMENTS USING CANNABIDIOL
PRODUCTS, AND AS SPA MANAGER SARAH
JOHNSON EXPLAINS, IT’S BEEN A HIT.

Hotel offering cannabis oil opens in Colchester
A new hotel which was thought to be the first in the UK to
offer guests products infused with cannabis oil, opened in
Colchester in June.
Green Coffee Lab and the eight-bedroom Leafy Hotel
launched earlier this year in the town centre and offers hot
drinks, cakes and food made with CBD oil and hemp as
well as cocktails and sweets.
The business is the brainchild of Tim Acton and Gregory
Land, who have been running online business Canna CBD
from Wrabness for the last three years.
The café will also sell CBD oil itself and is thought to be
the first in the UK to do so.
The website says: “We found our gap in the market,
coffees and teas infused with the health and wellness of CBD
and hemp. Sustainable, delicious and most importantly the
ideal way to start your day.”

R

udding Park in Harrogate has become one of the first
spas in the UK to introduce a range of treatments
using Cannabidol products.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent
found in the cannabis plant and will be used in a series of new treatments
at the luxury hotel in Yorkshire.
The hotel and spa has collaborated with MariPharm, a supplier of high
quality CBD products, to create a range of experiences which could assist
with pain relief, promote anti-ageing, reduce anxiety and depression
and support overall positive mental health.
Rudding Park spa guests will also have the option to add a CBD
Experience to a number of existing spa treatments at £15 per person.
For every CBD Experience booking, £2 will be donated to the Sir Robert
Ogden Macmillan Centre in Harrogate.
Sarah Johnson, Rudding Park spa manager explains: “As a natural
ingredient, research has shown CBD can help with an array of ailments

which makes it hugely appealing to those
who care about what they eat, drink or
apply to their skin. As a new trend taking
the wellness and beauty world by storm,
it’s important for us to embrace CBD
so we can offer guests what they are
looking from a spa experience.”
CBD is one of at least 85 cannabinoid
compounds found in cannabis and is
popular for its medicinal benefits.
Sophia Ali is founder and CEO of
Amma Life, one of the first companies
in the UK to produce and offer CBD
products. She says that the uptake of
CBD -infused products is one of the
‘fastest growing trends’ in the health and
wellbeing market and offers significant
opportunities for hoteliers. And as she
points out, there are a number of ways
to introduce CBD into your offering.
“Just by adding a few drops of CBD
oil or our Water Soluble spray into a
morning coffee, bowl of sorbet or even
a CBD infused cocktail at the bar, can
assist in getting guests to relax and
indulge in ‘me time’,” she explains.
“CBD is a growing trend so creating
a CBD journey for your guests to enjoy
can also highlight your hotel spa’s
uniqueness.”
