Editor Zoe Monk spoke
about how suppliers can
secure more brand coverage
ahead of the Independent Hotel
Show in October as part of an
exhibitor day that encouraged
the sharing of best practice and
networking among peers.

The Ned launched its new dining
room menu, showcasing a more
formal offering in its members-only
restaurant. The Dining Room is one of
ten restaurants at the iconic London
hotel and has a strong focus on utilising
ingredients from local suppliers.

Nespresso launched
#YourNespressoCoffeeTaste in
partnership with two Michelin
star chef, Daniel Clifford in
July, and we were invited to
Midsummer House to experience
the new concept prior to it
being rolled out at a handful of
restaurants this summer.

The Hotel Marketing
Conference took place
last month in July with
travel editor Simon Calder
delivering a candid speech
about the real prospects of
the UK hospitality sector
over the coming 12 months.

Afternoon tea at Ham Yard for
the judging of the Independent
Hotel Show Awards last month
saw a handful of influential
faces from the industry
come together to decide
on the winners for the first
time. Judges included Peter
Hancock from Pride of Britain
Hotels, hotel expert, Fiona
Duncan and past winners,
Adam Rowledge and Will
Ashworth from Another Place.

We got to see
the new-look One
Aldwych, one
month after it
reopened following
a multi-million
pound makeover.
The bedrooms
are a haven of
tranquillity in the
city, with soft colour palettes and sumptuous
textures, while the dramatic lobby bar is filled
with pops of glamour.
