or more than two decades, the Forbidden Fantasy
show has been one of the West Coast’s premier events.
A few years ago, it was moved to the Avi Resort &
Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. Like any other venue,
it has minor challenges, but its unique beachfront parking and
incredible view provide a backdrop like no other. Year after year,
the Forbidden Fantasy crew has this show running like a well-
oiled machine—even when unexpected changes to the plan get
thrown into the mix. Although it was initially thought the grass by
the beach wouldn’t be usable this year due to construction, it was
ultimately made available when the renovations were delayed.
On Friday afternoon, vehicles began rolling over to get
their parking spot for the weekend. When the show started
Saturday morning, the grass was packed with quality trucks
belonging to clubs from many of the surrounding states, and
even an ’87 Dodge D 150 all the way from Michigan! The vendor
area included display vehicles showing off products from Flo
AirRide, LevelRide, Phat Phabz, Switch Suspension, Stone Fab,
and more. If the gambling opportunities inside the casino weren’t
working out in their favor, spectators were lucky enough to have
beautiful weather all weekend. By Sunday morning, many of the
participants were ready to pack up and make the trek home, but
not before the raffle and trophy presentation. Top 75 plaques
were handed out, along with a host of specialty awards as well
as Best Of honors. Overall, it was a stellar weekend in Laughlin
with quality trucks, near-perfect weather, and a lot of happy
