The Plot

With over 15000 cases of forced weddings being reported thus far, Jabariya Jodi explores the practice of groom

kidnapping or pakadwa shaadis, rampant in North India, albeit with a comical take. Babli (Parineeti Chopra),

who hails from Patna, is fierce and fearless; she believes in choosing her own life partner. On the other hand,

Abhay (Sidharth Malhotra) takes up contracts of forced marriages from the girls’ families, who’re burdened with

the dowry system. The two fall in love and what follows is a comical twist of events between Abhay, Babli and their

opposing gangs (including Aparshakti Khurana, Chandan Roy Sanyal and others). What happens when the guy, who

threatens men into forced weddings, becomes a target himself?
