She’s the industry’s topmost stylista and she sure knows
how to make a queen size impact whatever the occasion.
For instance, her recent birthday ensemble got talked
about because of its one lakh plus price tag. Yes, the
combined cost of her Jacquemus knotted white shirt and
her Emila Wickstead metallic pleated skirt was that much
alright. Everything phenomenal, as they say.
While some may be able to buy that dress, you can’t
buy the personality that goes with it. Because it was
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s inner grace that made the attire
stand out. It seemed the ensemble was created just for her.
That’s her USP and she knows how to flaunt it.
To her credit, Sonam has never given in to the beauty
or the fashion myths. She doesn’t pretend that she wakes
up looking like a piece of pink sunshine. Instead, she’s
spoken time and again on how she has a team, which
helps her day in and day out to achieve the Cinderella
effect. The millions of hours spent in spas, in gyms, eating
the right thing in the right amount, being dressed up by
experts and made-up to look good in every possible light -
she has owned up to that and more. She has even advised
her fans, especially girls, not to be swayed by her example
and to stay real. And we love her for that.
She got married to entrepreneur Anand Ahuja last May
and has only looked happy ever since. The couple still
seem to be in their honeymoon period. The golden glow
hasn’t faded. While all’s good on the relationship front,
she dreams of achieving more as a professional. To her
credit, she has always aspired to be different. Right from
Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa (2013) to Neerja (2016) to
her last release, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019),
she has chosen roles, which are far removed from the
arm candy staple. It was a bold move indeed for her to
play a lesbian in Ek Ladki... The film may not have been
a commercial success but no one could question her
integrity, her dedication towards her character. She’ll be
next seen alongside Dulquer Salmaan in the cricket-based
rom-com The Zoya Factor, where she plays the titular
character. We can’t wait to watch the pair sparkle on
screen. For now, be prepared to see some jaw-dropping
images and read some candid replies from our beautiful
cover girl...
