#PMNarendraModi is all
about politics. Facts don’t
matter in Bollywood’s
biopics. A poor movie
that describes our PM
like God.

Dear @vivekagnihotri,
Shakespeare once said
“Fair is foul, and foul is
fair: Hover through the fog
and filthy air.”
You are an educated

India’s Most Wanted..
Arjun Kapoor carries the
film on his shoulders.
But the ending could
have been better.
A must watch.

INDIA’S MOST WANTED
Raj Kumar Gupta’s India’s
Most Wanted is about five
unsung heroes capturing
the country’s ‘Most Wanted
Terrorist’. Prabhat Kapoor (Arjun Kapoor) is
an intelligence officer based in Patna, who
gets a tip off about the whereabouts of India’s
Osama, the man behind the numerous bomb
blasts in the country. The government refuses
to support him. So he executes the mission on
his own with a set of commoners. Thankfully,
there’s no jingoism on display. The scene
in which Prabhat convinces his teammates
to join the mission is heartwarming.
Cinematographer Dudley does an excellent
job. But a layered film like this warrants
logic. It doesn’t care to explain the modus
operandi behind the mission. Arjun Kapoor
gives an understated performance. He gets the
Bihari accent bang on too. Rajesh Sharma, as
Prabhat’s boss, is as effective as always.

PM NARENDRA MODI
Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi
is one of the most influential politicians India
has ever seen. Modi has a massive following
in the country but he also has equally strong
dissenters. With such divided opinion, it must
have been a challenge for director Omung
Kumar to make a biopic on the national
leader. The film takes you through the key life
experiences of Modi (played by Vivek Oberoi)
and how he reached the top. From selling chai
as a kid with his father in Vadnagar, Gujarat
to his present status, the film covers all. Stuck
between his aspirations of becoming a soldier,

a politician and a sage, Modi finally joins the
RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh). Modi
is given a clean chit on the infamous 2002
Gujarat riots. Vivek Oberoi just about passes
off as Modi with the necessary hair and make-
up. Though the first half seem disjointed, the
political powwow in the second half keeps
the audience engrossed. The film is a treat for
bhakts, leaving others disappointed.

DE DE PYAAR DE
Director Akiv Ali’s debut film takes a warm
look at relationships across ages. It’s a
romance involving a separated 50-year-old
guy in London (Ajay Devgn) and a bubbly
confident girl half his age (Rakul Preet
Singh). The former decides to introduce
his lover to his ex-wife (Tabu) and family.
Things go terribly wrong when he’s found
to be an unwanted visitor in his home and
a game of errors ensues. Jimmy Shergill and
Kumud Mishra, with their cocky humour, add
strength to the proceedings. Some nostalgia is
evoked when Raah mein unse mulaakat ho
gayi from Ajay-Tabu starrer, Vijaypath, plays
up in a comical situation.

THE TASHKENT FILES
In a world that celebrates whitewashed
biopics, here comes a film that traverses
labyrinthine dark lanes of truth. But Vivek
Ranjan Agnihotri’s, The Tashkent Files, has
been written off by critics, ensuring that the
audience stays away from this ‘ propaganda’
film. A journalist (Shweta Basu Prasad),
accused of publishing fake news, sets out to
