HOT METAL
There’s a time and place for black liner,
but if you’re channelling an outdoorsy
summer vibe, stick to softer hues such
as pewter. ‘It’s not as hard as jet black,
but it does the same job of defining and
smoking out the eyes,’ says make-up
artist Gina Kane, who created the looks
on these pages. First, erase any under-eye
redness by dabbing Dolce & Gabbana
Millennial Skin Longwear Concealer,
£28, across lids and along lower lashes.
Be sure to lock in your base with a loose,
translucent powder. Using Dolce &
Gabbana Intense Eyes Eyeshadow Stick
in Bronze, £ 30, ring around the eyes,
taking it into the tear ducts. Smudge
into the lash line with a cotton bud.
Wiggle a defining mascara – like
Shiseido Controlled Chaos Mascara Ink
in Black Pulse, £25 – into the roots and
sweep it up to the tips of the lashes to
open up the eyes. Finally, Kane suggests
warming cheeks with a cream blusher
such as Glossier Cloud Paint in Storm,
£15, and swiping lips with Shiseido
Colorgel Lipbalm in Dahlia, £25.
