LaMer The Lip Volumizer, £65
Thisis like a lip hydrator on
speed.It’s infused with the same
Miracle Broth as the face cream
to instantly plump lips and soften
the look of lines around the
mouth. It’s also got an incredible
light-reflecting sheen that
only adds to the effect.

MuradRapid Collagen
Infusion For Lips, £25
Hydrating hyaluronic acid?
Check. Peptides that deliver
plumping collagen? Double check.
That’s the science bit – all you
need to know is that it feels
non-sticky and more like a
serum; it fills prune-like lips
and you’ll want to add it to
your anti-ageing regime ASAP.

Pillow-plumped,voluminous lips are back on my agenda
−and I’m blaming Love Island. I’ve been tempted to
try lip fillers in the past, but I’d rather fake fuller lips with
make-up. After all, it’s easy, painless and purse-
friendly.According to the experts, those of us who count
lipstickas our product of choice look for three things:
a sheer sheen, slightly transparent pigment and the
perfect lip colour-match. That’s where Clinique’s new Even Better
Pop Lip Colour Foundation, £17.50, comes in. Within this range of
28 lipsticks, there are nudes to suit every skin tone. Each enhances
your natural lip shade, contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate from the
inside out and glycols to boost circulation for a fuller-looking pout.
I’m addicted to shade 02 Gauzy for so many reasons: it’s a clever
face brightener, makes me look ‘done’ even if I’m just in a T-shirt
and jeans, and it’s an instant route to a filler-free lip boost. I’ve also
learned to put in the prep work, as any roughness will show up
under the sheer texture.First, I rub dry lips with a soft toothbrush
or a damp flannel to stimulate blood
flowand whip off any dead skin. Then,
I apply a hydrating treatment or
balm to strengthen the top layer
and keep lips visibly moist. ID your
lip shape and the areas you would
liketo volumise, too. I dab a cream
highlighter just above the middle of
my top lip to accentuate the Cupid’s
bow. If your lips are different sizes, use a lighter shade of nude
lipstick on the thinner lip and a darker colour on
the plumper side to balance them out. To increase the
look of both, use a lipliner all over and draw slightly
outside the perimeter before filling them in with
lipstick. Go for a wide brush, too − regular lip brushes
tend to be on the small side, so a concealer one is
best. Also worth noting: lipgloss applied to just
the centre of the lips catches the light and creates the
illusion of a bigger, juicier pout, especially if you pick
one with a hint of shimmer. See what
I mean about simple tweakments?

BareMinerals Moxie Plumping

Peptides make lips look more
voluptuous, while a mega dose

butters get to work hydrating.
There’s also a peppermint tingle

  • that’s the bit I like best when
    applying around the 3pm slump
    − it feelsso refreshing.

Maybelline New York Baby
Lips in Pink Punch, £3.99
I’ve had a tube of this in my bag
ever since I bought one in New
York years ago. It’s one of the
best moisturising lip balms
I’ve come across and it has the
teeniest hint of pink to perk up
a pout when you look knackered.
