Matter Of Choice:

  • By Rashi Bunny

“I

want a chocolate ice cream. I want a chocolate chip ice
cream, with melted dark chocolate center, topped with
rainbow sprinkles and toasted almonds. Actually I would like
those to be mint chips and in a waffle cone.”

“ No, no I am sure I really want something else for my 2nd phone.
Like what’s the fun of having 2 iphones. I think I will go with
HUAWEI P30 PRO, it is simply jaw-dropping device that leaves
basically nothing to be desired. Or may be GOOGLE PIXEL 3 XL!
or may be ONEPLUS 6T or may be XIAOMI MI 9, it is packed with
top-end specs and fantastic looks!! Yup, I think I am going to go
back to iphone. Decided”

“ But it’s a Harry Potter theme party for Grade 2, how can I put
those Majik glitter hair bows clips or the pink sequins hair clip
bowknot hairpins, or even Rrimin multi-colour chiffon satin lace
head band, I think I will have to send Anya in top knot in a golden
scrunch with her black Dumbledore A-line skirt!”

WE spend Infinite time on choosing everything of our day,
especially our foods, our clothes, the make of our car, the look
of our selfie, and everything that defines us in the eyes of the
Others.

“I want to eat this dish in this restaurant in this location at this
hour on this day with this person for this occasion.” We are
choosing: morning, evening, night, midnight, daily, relentlessly.

We are, SO CONSCIOUSLY, CHOOSING every single object in our
life.

But What about US? What about our mind?

Are we really choosing our thought or are our thoughts always
ushered by an avalanche of triggers from outside? Is the pivot
always about someone or something?

What about our relationships?

Are the relationships a package deal of comfort, convenience,
mutual benefits, peer-pressure, social–conditioning or are we
focusing on “relating” to the other person and then forming a
relationship?

And what about our emotions? Say in a conflicting situation, Are
we choosing to sulk & stay in a corner, or do we get a rage attack
and we mouth infuriated fire vomit, are we choosing the day to
be wasted in retaliation or are we choosing to rise up, stand up
for something and go get there and solve situations?

In this world of a million choices, what exactly are we
choosing? And what all are we choosing to leave at it and
Never Choose? What are we choosing Not to choose?
Where are we holding up and where are we letting go?

Where are we not recognizing our power to choose?

That is where it all lies-EVERY CHOICE MATTERS.
In these awakened hours, how many hours of asleep
choices are we in making?

A Choice That Matters!
