THAT YEAR.


Moon, the fi rst feature from director Duncan
Jones, who wrote the fi lm’s story that Nathan
Parker turned into a screenplay, went on to
win the Michael Powell Award for Best British
Feature at the Edinburgh International Film
Festival, the top fi lm and directing prizes at the
British Independent Film Awards, and a BAFTA
for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer,
Director or Producer for Jones.


Ten years on from its release, during which
Jones has gone on to direct three further
features and star Sam Rockwell has won an
Oscar, Moon is now debuting on the 4K Ultra
HD Blu-ray format, which has involved a loving
restoration of the fi lm’s materials. “It was myself
and Stuart Fenegan, my producer, who were
eager to celebrate the fact that anyone actually
still remembered Moon after ten years,” says
an enthusiastic Jones, calling from Los Angeles.
“When we made the fi lm, we were concerned
about whether it was even going to get into
cinemas and that anyone was going to see it,
so we were both so excited about being able to
celebrate our tenth anniversary. What can we
do? We've got to be able to do something.
“Fortunately, Sony has been so pleased with
the way that people received the fi lm that it was
