B
efore moving to London,
I spent most of my child-
hood in Paris and studied
marketing strategy at the Dauphine
University. For me, Paris is the
most beautiful city in the world.
I firmly believe that whether it’s art,
Stéphanie Watine Arnault,
of the LVMH dynasty,
shares her Parisienne’s
little black book – from
cocktails at The Ritz
to insider auctions
design, fashion or gastronomy, there
is a passion and attention to detail
that is unique here.
My apartment is not far from
the Seine. I find it very calming to
run along the river and never tire of
seeing the Louvre and the Jardin des
Tuileries from the Left Bank. And,
one day, Notre Dame will be back
in all its glory, too.
On a Sunday evening, I love to
entertain my friends with a bottle
of Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame
Rosé 2008, served with fresh bread
and a warm roasted-tomato salad.
Here are my tips for a bon moment
in Paris.

WHERE TO EAT
Divellec serves the most
fabulous seafood. Last time
I went I had the clam gratin
and the lobster – delicious.

WHERE TO RELAX
I love the Île Saint-Louis – it feels timeless and it is a must to get an
ice cream from Bertillon. If the weather is good I’ll meet friends at
Jardin d’Acclimatation. Their children love to go to the little petting
farm and vintage fairground rides there.
WHERE TO DRINK
The Bar Hemingway at
The Ritz is my go-to. We sit
at the bar so we can chat to
Colin Peter Field, the Head
Bartender, who is an institution.
He makes the best Hennessy
cocktails. ritzparis.com
WHERE TO VISIT
The architecture and engineering
of the Fondation Louis Vuitton
never cease to amaze me –
it is simply spectacular. The
Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition
was very moving. When I was
small I used to visit the Musée
Picasso in the Marais.

WHERE TO SHOP
Le Bon Marché has everything
from super high-end to lesser-
known, more casual designers.
I stock up on Assouline coffee-
table books for friends. My late
mother, Dominique Watine Arnault,
was an auctioneer and Drouot in
the 9th Arrondissement is a
fabulous auction house with lots
of hidden gems. They usually start
at 2pm so you can swing by that
morning to find your treasure.
