In what turned out to be this summer’s most

popular party theme, Bruern became Blackrock

City for one night only as Rose van Cutsem

turned 40 with a Burning Man-themed party.

The Astor clan, Poppy Keswick, Jeremy Clarkson

and Alex James arrived in a sea of feathers,

sequins and the odd mohawk for Trailer Trash

burgers, a riotous speech from Jeanie Cordy-

Simpson and DJ sets from Ben Bridgewater

and Sophie Gallagher. ‘There was a lot of love in

the long grasses,’ said Rose (resplendent in a

futuristic silver dress), ‘but what happens in

Rosestock stays in Rosestock.’
