Delhi and A Little Anarky, a
storyteller, a pun master on social
media, a lover of dresses with
pockets, an avid reader and a collector of all
things under the sky, also dabbles with art
direction, designing workspaces and her home.

Koval’s credo of envisioning a space to design
is to embrace and capture the complexity of its
inhabitants. Hence, for her, the multifaceted
nature of individuals offer a larger space to

explore, create and recreate the spaces they live
in. “People can be complex and have multiple
aspects to their personality, and I think it’s
important to stay true to that in the decor as
well.” On her residence at Goa, she shares, “My
house reflects who I am and I love that, because
that’s what feeling at home is, isn’t it?” Her
walls are strewn with plants, books, feminist
art, Star Wars posters and bric-a-brac picked
up during her umpteen travels. Her designs
exhibit a mix of all things and she asserts that
“labels such as minimalist, boho, vintage or

eclectic are limiting.” Her personal sense of
aesthetic is derived from her love for a range of
things and impressions: from colours, textures,
countryside and pastoral imagery, pop-culture,
and the absurd.

Stacks of books and planters of all kinds form
the heart of her designs. Her workspace is also
intrinsically and visually designed to reflect
the work and philosophy of the production
house she founded. The walls are smeared with
sketches of Tim Burton, the Joker and the logo
