Designer Speak

Where did you study
design from?
We studied design at
the Fashion Institute
of Design and
Management, Los
Angeles, USA.

What prompted
you to choose
sustainability?
Sustainability is the
need of the hour with
humans exploiting
nature to such an
extent that we are
on a path of self
destruction. With
both of us being nature lovers we really felt the need to step in
and change the way sustainability is defined by giving it a new
perspective, which is, through art.

What are the products that you offer?
We focus on large scale art installations and sculptures mainly,
but also customise smaller objects for home decor or utility
purposes in bulk. Over the years, we realised that our movement
of upcycling needs more awareness and more permanent
solutions. Hence, armed with a strategy to spread ‘Awareness
through Art’, we target public spaces and events to showcase
art installations made from scrap and waste. Under “Awareness
through Art” we work with corporates and organisations, to
reuse their industrial waste into sculptures and utility products
for use within their organisations.

How do you sell them?
We depend a lot on networking with the right people at the right
events and approach them very organically to build a business
connect. We also focus on our social media accounts to spread
the word.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
When you are into design there is no particular point of
inspiration, everything and anything inspires you. It could be a
passing truck filled with piles of something or even just a plain
old tree; design is everywhere–shapes, colours, forms, structures
everything becomes eye-catching and a point of inspiration. TIHG
