right from her college days, Anupama used to go looking for
curio shops in search of little treasures. Most often she would find
something that interested her, and she
would spend days treasuring her new
finds. Moving along, she chose to pursue
a career in advertising and marketing
and has worked with large ad agencies,
digital marketing firms and retail chains.
And, it was in between one of these jobs,
that she wanted to pursue an idea to
promote culture tourism with unique
experiences. Anupama says, “I spent
more than a year researching, which led

conservators and other experts in the
space.unfortunately, I had to park this
project for various reasons, and in turn, it

meaningful, accessible and sustainable. unfactory gives high
prominence to artisans/designers engaged in contemporarising
traditional art and craft techniques. Today, the brand collaborates
with over 150 urban and rural artisans and community driven
projects. Adding on further Anupama stresses, “Our mission is to
build a large network of urban and rural artisans. A community
that mutually benefits from each other along with being a self
sustaining community. I also see this as an opportunity to reach
out to more people and get them to experience the rich culture of
arts and crafts of our country.” TIHG
