Who is Marie? That was the fi rst
question we asked when Bottega
Veneta made the unusual move of
christening its Marie bag after a person’s
name. We reached out, but no one from
headquarters had a clue as to creative
director Daniel Lee’s muse. From the
Pre‑Fall collection, this minimalist bag
is ridged on its gold‑tone closure with
guilloche, an engraving technique
borrowed from watchmaking. Set on a
leather band that encircles the bag, the
clasp opens with push buttons on the
sides, like that of a watch bracelet. The
emerald green rendition shown here,
in velvety Cachemire calf suede with
a smooth bonded nappa inside, is a
Singapore exclusive.
