Is Matt a natural then?
Lacey: Yes! I always knew he’d be a good dad
but he’s brilliant! He does everything – feeds,
nappy changes, cooking for us. He goes back
to work this week and I’ll be on my own!
Matt: You just get on with it. It’s not about
overcomplicating anything. I think your energy
rubs off on the baby, so it’s better to remain
calm. But, as much as Lacey says I’m doing
everything, she’s doing just as much and
she’s expressing milk, too. She’s a natural. I’ll
probably be calling them about a hundred
times when I’m back at work!

Who was the first person
to visit in hospital after
you’d given birth?
Matt: My mum. She had
FOMO as Lacey’s mum and I
were there.
Lacey: But we were back
home at 5.30pm the day I’d
given birth!
Matt: You wouldn’t have
known Lacey had given birth
that morning. She was home
and cleaning the house the
day she gave birth!

Lacey: I thought, Dusty needs to get used to
the sound of the vacuum cleaner! I’m a clean
freak and clean every day.

Is that why she’s called Dusty?
[Both Laugh]
Matt: Yes, perhaps subconsciously that’s
the reason!
Lacey: I have a Labrador and they moult!
Although, I do think it’s amazing that I was
home and cleaning the house the same day,
I’m fascinated by the human body.

Who does Dusty look like?
Matt: There’s a photo of
Lacey when she was the
same age and she’s her
double [left]! She’s got my
long limbs, though, and
when she sleeps she catches
flies like I do [laughs].

Lacey, have you heard
from any of your
EastEnders co-stars?
Lacey: Yes, I’ve had lots
of cards from them and a
few of them – including

‘DUSTYNEEDS

Lacey after welcoming
daughter Dusty (below

like Lacey at the same
