Proving that he’s already following in his
dad’s footsteps with a passion for football,
George – who was born on July 22, 2013 – can
be seen in two of the portraits proudly sporting
his England football shirt. Flashing a
toothy grin, George is seen playing
in the garden of the Cambridges’
Kensington Palace home, Apartment 1A.
In a third image, George is looking
relaxed in a polo shirt and shorts while
on holiday with his family.
While Kate regularly takes pictures of
her children for official release, this is the
first time she has captured her son for
one of his birthdays.
It is thought that the Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge usually prefer
to give the privilege to professional
photographers given George’s important
rank within the royal family.
The third in line to the throne marked
his special day on the private Caribbean
island of Mustique, where George also
spent his fifth birthday. It is believed

that the island has become one of Kate and
William’s favourite places thanks to the privacy
afforded them by a no-fly zone overhead. The
couple take a break during most of July and
August, to spend time
with their children in
the summer holidays.
George will be
entering year two
when he returns to
Thomas’s Battersea
in September. But,
before he goes back,
insiders say he will
have a magic-themed
birthday party with his
friends from school!
‘Magicians from the
Magic Circle have all
been booked,’
a source said.
Even though
they weren’t with
him, the Duke and

Duchess of Sussex proved their nephew was
in their thoughts by sending warm wishes on
Instagram. Commenting on a photo of George,
Harry and Meghan wrote: ‘Happy Birthday!
Wishing you a very special day and lots of love.’
It was reported last week that George and his
sister Princess Charlotte have taken a real shine
to Harry and Meghan’s 12-week-old son Archie.
According to insiders, the siblings like nothing
more than spending time with their cousin,
with a source revealing: ‘They dote on him.
Charlotte treats Meghan and Harry’s son like a
doll and is always asking after him.’
Speaking of George’s relationship with
his four-year-old sister, the insider added:
‘Although Charlotte’s much bossier than
George, she looks up to him. They squabble
over small things like toys, but the majority of
the time they get along.’
