The Teenager Today – July 2019

(National Geographic (Little) Kids) #1
Nazia Syed is an aspiring writer and poet
whose life motto is dreaming,
believing and empowering.

How have you managed living an
actor’s life and a normal life?

Well, all I can say is that I know
how to balance my time; and time
management is everything I believe
in; it’s an art one must master. It’s
been over 7 years now; so juggling
through time is within me.

If not an actor what else would you
like to be?

Acting is my passion of being
able to express what I feel. But if
not an actor I would be a singer
or a filmmaker. Singing is another
gift I am truly blessed with; I
study all the genres of songs so
I can master all the spices in the
food of music.

Who do you idolize and why?

I don’t particularly idolize anyone
because I believe that in different
walks of life every person has set a
mark beautifully which is inspiring.
So I don’t want my mind to be
blocked to see the good only in just
one person. I believe in adopting
the best from everyone for bettering
myself.

What’s your mantra of life?

Keep your windows open to new
things. Never stop learning as life
has millions of things to teach you.

Don’t be satisfied
with the hundred
things you know,
listen to everything
because everything
needs to be heard, be
it trivial or essential,
acceptance to life and
things. Don’t stress
yourself if you can’t
change something;
for that something
unchanged will
change you!

What message would
you like to give to the
youth of today?

I don’t think anyone actually
needs a specific message or should
be told to do what to do. I would
rather say just figure things for your
own self.

What is the sweetest thing that a
fan has done for you?
The sweetest thing someone ever
did for me was when I woke up from
sleep on my birthday, and saw that
he/she had made a beautiful sketch
of me.

How do you react to fame and
popularity?
Though it may sound surreal to
many, I am not among those who
enjoy fame. I like people wanting me
without any status. A lso I don’t know
how to react to it; I am just anxious.

Do you think you have been deprived
of fun because of work load?

Yes, because I can’t spare time for
my friends I end up losing touch and
go out of contact; my body is drained
of work, people have false notions
about me; all these things devastates
a normal life.

How did you commence in the
acting field?

It’s always been my hobby; like I
was born to express myself. In my
world there’s addiction only for
action; it’s my passion, and that is
what makes me, me!

What made you realize that you
want to be an actor?
I always wanted to be an actor or
rather a person who is free to express
herself. I was seven when I started

doing ads. The idea of being able to
express caught my fancy; it’s like
my own la la land where I can be
whoever I want to be without not
having to be me!

Describe your journey to this day.
I was 11 when I auditioned for
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, and
you could say it just fell into my
bucket. I feel privileged to be a part
of the brand of the show that it is
and being a part of that legacy is like
a great miracle of a thing that has
happened to me.
