There’s also plenty of closet space in

UT it’s the décor that brings
everything together. Joy
Greenberg of Mia Bella Inte-
riors chose the furniture and
accessories for the flat and in
just a week she managed to
turn it into a dream space.
From the wallpaper to the couches
and mirrors, everything was handpicked.
“I wanted to give each room its own
theme using texture, colours, patterns
and shapes while still giving the apart-
ment a homely feel,” Greenberg explains.

contemporary styles are infused with
soft colours to give the place a cosy feel.
But the biggest challenge was not
knowing who she was decorating for,
Greenberg says. Usually she’s able to sit
with a client and find out exactly what
their tastes are when it comes to furnish-
ings.Yet in this case she had to wave her
r designer wand, conjuring up a
masterpiece that would be to the
liking of any of the 16 women vy-
ng for the crown.
“I kept it simple yet trendy and
ractical. Less is more,” she ex-
lains. “A home needs to have a
iendly, warm, welcoming atmos-
here and be ready to live in. I
anted to create a unique identity

ill allow Miss SA to feel elegant,

to feel like her bedroom is her haven and
the place she can feel most relaxed, so I
used fabrics that are plush and textured.”

create a space where any guest would
feel comfortable, Greenberg explains.
The lounge and dining room, on the
other hand, are much bolder and deco-
rated in a modern urban style with col-
ours that are functional and beautiful at
the same time.
Essentially, it’s a home that reflects the
beauty, class, sophistication and radi-
ance of Miss SA. But ultimately Green-
berg hopes it will be a haven where the
reigning queen will be able to relax and
regroup during herbusyreign.
“Every woman lovesbeing made to feel
beautiful,” she says.

The balcony is spacious and great for entertaining guests. It also provides a picture-perfect view
of Sandton in Johannesburg.
