A metal pot
In the spring of 2014, the tree was
repotted in a metal pot, then defoliated
and scarified again. The tree’s future
silhouette was beginning to take shape.
It should be noted that the difficulty
of this style lies in knowing when to
stop working on a tree, with a view to
exhibiting it. In this creative system,
you can wire and position all new
shoots, without exception, and then the
branches that spring from the trunk. It is
a limitless system that is not bound by
the rules as defined by Japanese codes.
At some point, you therefore need to
decide whether or not to move on to
finalising the ramification as necessary
for exhibition conditions. •••
