The above quote is very
meaningful for me and many
other artists.
I create art that means
something to me and use
the creative process to clear
my mind of the confusion
and stress of daily life. As
a result much of my artwork
stays tucked away on my
hard drive solely for me.
For me, Photo Digital Art
is an art-form that has its
roots in Pictorialism (see
last months issue for more
info), mixed media art, scrap
booking and photography. It
is a combination of all these
medias blended together
with multiple layers of
photographs, textures and
brushwork. Many pieces
of artwork are made up of
individual layers to create
one finished piece.
Unlike traditional artwork, the
digital artist has the ability to
“step back in time” to remove
brush-strokes and textures,
change the lighting effects
or even add new elements
behind the main image. The
resulting artwork is either
viewed on a screen or
