up in my underwear, opened the window,
and there were all these people out there
looking at me and screaming,” Green told
People in 1994. “I don’t eat up all the scream-
ing. I kind of get shy.”
“Shy,” however, isn’t a word anyone
would use to describe 90210’s David.
Maybe “persistent”: From the show’s fi rst
episode, David set out to make the most of
high school, befriending the popular kids
and trying to win the heart of Kelly Taylor
(Jennie Garth). “David Silver is the annoy-
ing guy nobody wants around, but they
can’t get rid of him,” Green told Entertain-
ment Weekly in 1991. Before long he was
the youngest member of the cool clique,
dating Donna (Tori Spelling) and dreaming
of a career in music. Meanwhile, the real
Green moonlighted as a musician duringfi lming, releasing a rap album, One Stop
Carnival, in 1996.
Back on 90210, David and Donna’s
relationship hit a snag when she vowed to
remain a virgin until her wedding night and
her boyfriend decided he couldn’t wait that
long to get physical. After their breakup,
David fell in with sexy and charismatic
Valerie Malone (played by Green’s then
real-life girlfriend Tiff ani-Amber Thiessen)
and developed a dangerous drug addiction.
Eventually he and Donna found their way
back into each other’s arms, tying the knot
on the series’ much-hyped fi nale in 2000.
After the series ended, Green continued
to work in television, appearing on the series
Freddie, Terminator: The Sarah Connor
Chronicles, Desperate Housewives and Anger
Management, among others. It was on the set
of the comedy Hope & Faith that he met his
future wife, actress Megan Fox; they married
in 2010 and have three sons together, Noah
Shannon, Bodhi Ransom and Journey River.
Green also has a son, Kassius Lijah, with for-
mer fi ancée Vanessa Marcil, another 90210
alum, who also starred on General Hospital.
