after dylan fled l.a. in season 6, the position of
resident brooding hunk was left largely unfi lled until the
arrival of dark and mysterious Noah Hunter in season 8.
Haunted by the memory of a car accident after he’d been
drinking that killed his girlfriend, Noah came from a rich
but unhappy family and battled alcohol addiction. But
where Luke Perry exuded biker cool, Philadelphia-born
actor Vincent Young brought a Jersey Shore swagger to
Noah, whom the gang met on a trip to Hawaii. Val was
the fi rst to set her sights on him, but Noah, who wenton to buy the Peach Pit After Dark, eventually began an
on-again, off -again aff air with Donna—mirrored in real
life by Young and Tori Spelling ’s longtime relationship.
Although his character never reached Dylan’s level of
fame, Young, whose pre- 90210 work included a Miller
beer commercial and who has since appeared on JAG
and NCIS, was stunned by how the show changed his
life. Suddenly he had fans—including Britney Spears,
who told Teen People in 1999 that she nearly “died” upon
meeting Young at a party thrown by the magazine.
